The Tourney Nobody Here Cares About

So I watched a lot of the World Cup this weekend. Really some good matches. I know not too many folks here in the states are really into it, but I am. I love the passion, hunger, discipline, and emotion these guys show.
The game really is beautiful, as they say. Some really good soccer (futbol) played this weekend. Close matches had me on the edge of my seat, and the not-too-close matches were still fun with their intense offensive showings.
Part of the reason I love soccer is the way it’s played, and the lack of timeouts, stoppages, commercials, etc. It’s 90 minutes of pretty much non-stop action, and the strategy involved and the well-timed runs, and the oh-so-close shots on goal…all makes for excellent entertaiment.
So if you’re not that into it, take a look at a match or two, and notice the intensity, desire, and patriotism these guys show. Hopefully the US will have a good showing. They’ve got some real talent, and Keller is nearly impossible to score on, so we have a really good chance at making a run at the trophy.
