I’ve thought about doing this before - the big kicker is if you can return the Extended Service Plan for a full refund. If you can do that, then this is a powerful negotiation strategy.

And that’s when a remarkable, though little known, opportunity is presented to the consumer. I’ve personally skimmed $150 off the price of my last television, and most recently saved on my digital camcorder.

This method works at many other places offering in-store insurance policies. It’s not full proof, but a patient consumer can save bundles of cash.

Matt has a nice guide/podcast on windows apps on an Intel Mac, with DVD-Shrink as the demo software.

The ability to use Windows application on the new Intel Macs is a great marketing strategy and buying point for several switchers now. There are several solutions available now and I go into some detail about the latest one to hit the market by Codeweavers in this episode.

Very nice because I love DVD-Shrink on my Windows box…great tool for compressing dual-layer DVDs to one backup disk.
